Ashianna (house of love) — Asian Women's Group
Welcome
Our meetings are held every Wednesday afternoon. The aim is to bring black and ethnic minority women, mainly from Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities closer together and help them to be well informed about their rights and the services available to them.
Ashianna is run by experienced staff
who are employed through Newport Mind and provides efficient support and assistance to women in a non-judgemental, safe and confidential
environment.
Ashianna aims to provide support and information to women in their first languages (Urdu/Punjabi) on various, different
issues such as:
- Education
- Health
- Housing and Benefit Matters
Other activities that are included are:
- Tie and Dye
- Glass Painting
- Makeover
- Picnics
- Trips
